Pheona Nabasa-Wall

Pheona Nabasa-Wall

Founding Partner

Pheona Wall is an Advocate, Commissioner of Oaths and Chartered Mediator with a Bachelors’ Degree in Law, a Diploma in Legal Practice and an MBA in Management. She is the immediate Uganda Law Society(ULS) President Emeritus (2020-2022).

She is among the few senior lawyers in Uganda at the rank of “Senior Counsel” for advocates who have demonstrated appropriate temperament and respect for legal professionalism and also contributed to the enrichment of Ugandan jurisprudence.

Professional Experience;
A resource in both private and public enterprises with thorough knowledge and hands-on experience in public relations, energy, oil and gas, company secretarial practice, labour law, Pheona combines a solid corporate legal background with a well-developed understanding of both commercial and operational drivers of business.

She is a Governance Expert who trains Boards in Governance under the Institute for Corporate Governance Uganda and has also served on various Boards including Zamara Retirement Fund, Water FC, Future Investments Group, East African Young Water Professionals, Uganda Law Society, and Public Relations Association of Uganda. She is a member of various organisations like ICGU, FIDA, IBA, PRAU, ULS and EALS.

She has handled various multi-million contract negotiations for different national and international organisations. She handled a contract negotiation of over 216 million Euros. She is regularly retained by both local and foreign investors and has played an advisory role to two joint ventures on the Tilenga Project.

She is a Registered Trustee of Zamara Retirement Fund and a Board Member of Fields of Life and the East African Business Council.

Professional roles played:
Pheona has served as a Council Member of the Judiciary Council and also sat on the ICAMEK and CADER Arbitration Center Boards and is currently the Vice Chairperson of the Advisory Council of Efficacy Methodology, an African Policy Think Tank.

Community Work;
She founded the FIDELIS LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE a leadership training institute aiming at creating a critical mass of ethical leaders that are faithful, available, and teachable.
Pheona served as an administrator for Candlelight Foundation, a NGO in partnership with Icelandic Development Agency to rehabilitate street girls.
She advocated for media rights like the re-opening up of the Nation Media Group’s namely; Kfm Radio and NTV station.

Awards and recognition:
She attained the rank of Senior Counsel in 2022.

Pheona was awarded the French German Elysees Peace and Reconciliation Award in 2021 for her efforts towards fighting for the Rule of Law in Uganda.

She won a recognition award by the Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda for her role as a Quality Assurance Expert 2022.

She was awarded as one of Africa’s Top 50 Leaders by the African Law Tech Festival in 2020.

She also won the Hague Institute for Innovations in Law “2018 Talent to Watch” Award.

She is a two times awadee of 40 under 40 by New Vision for 2018 and 2020.

Ednah holds a Bachelors in Law Degree with honors from Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal practice from the Kenya School of Law. She is a fully licensed Advocate in both Uganda and Kenya. Ednah is an experienced Counsel with a demonstrated history of working in the commercial and corporate industry and the information technology and services industry. She is skilled in Commercial transactions, Conveyancing, ADRs, Banking and Finance Law, Petroleum Law, Legal Writing, and Research. She is a strong legal professional with vast experience in trial advocacy.

Edna’s knowledge and experience in banking and finance law enables her to assist clients with a wide range of legal issues, including regulatory compliance, transactional matters, and litigation. She is a skilled negotiator who is able to navigate complex financial transactions with ease, and her attention to detail ensures that her clients are protected at every step of the process.

Edna’s professionalism and dedication to her clients is evident in everything she does. She is a tireless advocate who works diligently to ensure that her clients’ legal needs are met, and she approaches every case with the same level of dedication and commitment. Her expertise in banking and finance law, combined with her exceptional communication skills and attention to detail, make her a valuable asset to any legal team.

About Jimmy;
Jimmy is an Advocate of the Courts of Judicature of the Republic of Uganda. He holds a Master of Commercial Law (Honors Degree) including Corporate Governance Law from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, a Bachelor of Law Degree with Honours (LL.B Hons) from Makerere University and a Diploma in Legal Practice from Law Development Center, Kampala.

Professional Experience;
Founder/Producer of Corporate Governance Africa. As founder, he carriedout the Publishing of several documentaries on corporate governance, Developing content for documentaries, Research on corporate governance, Conducting interviews as part of research for the development of content for corporate governance.
Legal Officer at Uganda National Roads Authority (2017-2022). Among the duties he executed was Providing secretarial support to the Board of the Institution, Providing legal advice and advisory to the Land Acquisition Directorate, and other Directorates and Carrying out policy reviews and sensitization to members of the institution.
Lecturer at Kampala International University (2011-2017).
Legal Associate at Sendege, Senyondo & Co. Advocates (2006-2008)
Legal Assistant at Balikuddembe & Co. Advocates (2005-2006).
